WHO WE ARE

Our Philosophy

At Family Counselling Centres, we have abandoned the one-size-fits-all approach to mental health and wellness. We recognize that each case is acutely different than the next and that traditional office therapy may not always be the best approach in treatment.

This is why we believe in holistic wellness; an approach that considers the whole person – body, mind, spirit, and emotions. We also utilize the latest research in brain development, mental health methodology, and provide referrals to those in our community who can further assist in the care of the individual seeking help.

As social creatures, our human connections are the building blocks of the nurturing environments we rely on to emotionally and mentally flourish. This is why our focus on re-establishing supportive bonds is a central element in all of our treatments. We adhere to the belief that people have the innate capacity to live up to their full potential if such an environment is accessible.

Message From Our Executive Director

It is an honour for our clinical team to walk alongside you in your counselling journey. Our therapists provide a non-judgemental, safe, accepting and supportive presence. We understand that there continues to be stigma associated with mental health and accessing services. Our therapists are advocates for prioritizing mental health and we value a preventative approach. We engage in a collaborative relationship with our clients to support their mental health needs. At times individuals, couples or families seek support to process a distressing life event, facilitate healthy connection, improve communication, obtain the skills to work through a specific mental health condition, help you understand how to best support a loved one who is struggling, explore new perspectives or facilitate self growth. We know that the traditional counselling environment may not be ideal for everyone and our hope is to provide a therapeutic experience that fits your needs. It is a privilege to witness the vulnerability, resilience, courage and strength that is often shown by our clients”.
