Tammy Schamuhn Registered Psychologist, & Play Therapist

Founder and Executive Director

Office: Leduc and Equine Office

I am an passionate, empathetic, and experienced clinician here for my community to help children, teens, and adults heal and grow. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma and anxiety. I aim to have warm, respectful, and productive relationships with the clients I collaborate with, and I enjoy being part of the positive change that families experience.

I am a Registered Psychologist, Play Therapist, and Animal Assisted Therapist. I use several different modalities to help my clients express feelings, explore relationships, learn new problem-solving skills, develop critical thinking, describe their experiences, connect with others, and facilitate self-fulfillment.

I have experience treating children, individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have completed additional training in play therapy, sandplay therapy, EMDR (trauma treatment), dialectical behavioral therapy, animal assisted therapy, and art therapy. I have developed a specific program for animal assisted counselling using horses and dogs as my co-therapists.

In addition to my training as a therapist, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and I worked as an elementary teacher for three local school districts before attending graduate school. Inclusively, I have over 13 years of experience working with children in a professional capacity.
