Registered Provisional Psychologist
Office: Leduc and Equine Office
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta. My Master’s degree is in Counselling Psychology and I have completed additional training in play therapy and equine assisted therapy. I have over 10 years experience working with students within the Blackgold School District with a wide range of behavioural, emotional, social, and academic challenges such as autism, ADHD, ODD, FASD, as well as those at risk for school drop out and for developing addictions.
In my practice I have worked with people of all ages, but particularly specialize in working with children (2 years and up), teens, families, groups, as well as individuals with developmental disabilities. My experience includes working with individuals that have experienced trauma, abuse (sexual, physical, emotional), divorce or separation, co-parenting, involvement with child and family services, anxiety, depression, anger management, behavioural issues, grief and loss, relationship issues, and school difficulties. I use a wide range of modalities that include play therapy, sandtray, art, equine-assisted therapy, mindfulness, person centred, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I am passionate about the work that I do and have the ability to create effective and dynamic social relationships with my clients by creating a collaborative, supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment that helps to ensure that each client feels heard and understood. I also help caregivers gain insight into underlying areas of difficulty and support them in promoting their child’s resilience and adjustment across home and classroom settings.
