Animal -Assisted Therapy

Why work with animals?

Research indicates that the addition of animals to the therapeutic process (Animal-Assisted Therapy) promotes stronger attachment, empathy, catharsis, higher cognitive functioning, problem solving, and the facilitation of social skills.

The use of animals in a therapeutic setting can help support concerns such as:

Abuse (sexual, emotional, physical), anxiety, attachment issues, child and adolescent challenges, depression, grief and loss, neurodivergence (e.g. Autism, ADHD, giftedness), personality disorders,
self-esteem and trauma.
